IONIC LIQUIDS

Ionic liquids are salts comprising organic cations (imidazolium, ammonium, pyrrolidinium, etc.) associated with inorganic anions (Cl-, AlCl4-, PF6-, BF4-, NTf2-, DCA-, etc.) or organic anions (CH3COO-, CH3SO3-, etc.) which are liquid around room temperature.

Properties of ionic liquids:

  • non-volatile (no diffusion of VOC into the atmosphere)
  • non-flammable (easier to handle and store)
  • stable at high temperature (up to 200°C / 392°F or 400°C / 752°F depending on the products)
  • very good conductors
  • Hydrophobic or Hydrophilic
  • broad electrochemical range
  • very stable with water and oxygen

We provide a wide range of ionic liquids with more than 80 references available.
Products manufactured in our laboratory range from a gram to a kilogram and offer very high purity (98%, 99%, 99.5% and 99.9%). They are suited to Research and Development needs.
